Housing Environment Research and Innovation (HERI) is an integrated research center constructed by Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) as part of the Housing Performance Research & Development Center Construction Project, commissioned to LH by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The ultimate goal of HERI is to improve housing quality by addressing five key issues in housing: 1) noise and vibration such as floor impact and outdoor noise, 2) indoor air quality affected by TVOC, particles, and mold, 3) thermal insulation and dew condensation of thermal bridge, 4) ventilation and air tightness concerns including natural ventilation and air purification, and 5) water-proofness for cracks and water-leakage.
HERI provides comprehensive services, from housing performance R&D,house indication, policy and technology support, training to publicity, and enables sharing of research facilities and other collaboration opportunities by serving as an integrated platform that gathers knowledge and experience of experts from the government, industry, academia and research institutes.
HERI is strongly committed to improving the Korean people’s standards of living by taking initiative in resolving five key issues of housing performance and thereby building safe and comfortable houses and a foundation for technological innovation for future housing.
